Leon and Lee have created and managed booths at several local malls for many years. In the booths, they sold decorative items, bed linens, dream catchers, and dog & cat figurines. When they decided to include food products in their inventory, they chose several Texas-made products. Initially, they purchased pickles, relishes, jellies, and salsas from a company that had been hand-packing the products for over 26 years. They were encouraged to create their own label for those products. The brand evolved into 2 Ripe Tomatoes - tantalizingly tasty.
Their food booths in the mall at Third Monday Trade Days, High Street Antiques, Frisco Mercantile, and now ReRun Resale & Consignment have expanded to include: extra-virgin olive oils and basaltic vinegars from Texas Olive Ranch, specialty seasonings from Daddy’s Seasonings, a prepared Bloody Mary drink mix from Skip’s Mix, local honey from Sunnyvale Honey Producers, a cranberry-citrus cider from Hot Ruby, and sourdough bread mixes from Soberdough Brew Bread.
